Energy saving by voltage reduction May 1st 2007 Claude Lyons has adapted the
design of its TS range of voltage
stabilisers that correct extreme
supply voltage fluctuations, as
experienced in developing
countries, to produce the
PowerSave energy saving
regulators. The PowerSave sets up
the conditions that allow the
appropriate loads to make the
saving which is said to be up to
25%, as well as significantly
increasing equipment life.
PowerSave can be installed at
the incoming low voltage
(415V/240V) to the site, allowing
full independent site control over
the phase output voltages. The
outputs are self-adaptive and
automatically adjust within their
correction range to a
predetermined value.
This feature will allow precise
voltage reduction to accommodate
fluctuating incoming voltages, site
voltage drops and specific
requirements of critical loads. An
additional benefit of this method of
voltage reduction is achieving
phase voltage balance, improving
the efficiency of motors and
making additional savings. More articles from Claude Lyons Limited: |
